Learning Objectives

The Open College Network West Midlands Region Level 3 Award in Measurement of Body Symmetry provides learners with the theoretical principles, knowledge of common safety issues and the practical skills they need in order to provide objective measurements of body symmetry using the Goldsmith Indices.

Event Description

This two day practical course will offer physiotherapist acredited training to use the goldsmith Indicies of Body Symmetry. This is an Open College Network West Midlands Region Level 3 certified course.

Measurement of Body Symmetry Course General Information

Day 1

Group work and presentation covering:

  • A brief review of biomechanics
  • Understanding the procedures
  • What the results tell us and how they can be used

Day 2

  • Carrying out the procedures on each other
  • Obtaining and analysing the data

This is a practical course, if you decide to attend you will need to come suitably dressed.

  • The Goldsmith Indices of Body Symmetry
  • Results Sheet
  • Observational Results Sheet

About the Instructor

Anna Waugh has been the managing director of Simple Stuff Works Associates Ltd for the past 10 years. The company has been providing award winning therapeutic positioning equipment and accredited training in protection of body shape services across the UK and internationally. Training in measurement of body symmetry for healthcare professionals has been a passion of Anna’s since she started the business and she has helped to train therapy teams in Hong Kong, China, Australia and the UK.
