Glennon / AIG Bursary

Research and innovation are essential to the dynamics of our clinical excellence as a profession.  The Professional Development Standing Committee of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists aims to encourage, support and facilitate research activity among the ISCP membership.

Past Recipients


Kate Devenney was the 2018 recipient of the Glennon Bursary for her project entitled The effects of acute exercise on cognitive performance and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)  

Jonathan Moran was the recipient of the 2016 Glennon AIG Bursary for his project entitled "Preoperative High Intensity Interval Training in patients scheduled for colorectal and thoracic surgery: The PHIIT Trial"

The recipient of the 2015 Glennon/AIG  Bursary was Dr Emer Guinan for her project entitiled "Rehabilitation Strategies Following Oesophageal Cancer (ReStOre trial)"

The winner of the 2014 Glennon/AIG Bursary was Louise Keating for her project entitled “A Randomised Controlled Trial of Multimodal Physiotherapy for Patients with Acute / Sub-acute Cervical Radiculopathy on a waitlist for assessment at a tertiary neurosurgical centre.
